About Erican College

  Erican college is located in the commercial office building named Megan Avenue II and the building is located at the center of Kuala Lumpur which is nearby the iconic building of Malaysia, KLCC. Erican College was an English Language Center at the beginning and currently still existing. We can say that Erican College is still a very new college compare to another college since it is founded by a few years ago. The office and the classrooms had been distributed to different blocks and floors so we can easily to see the college students in everywhere. Other than students, we also could see a lot of white-collar people since there is a commercial office building and Kuala Lumpur is a bustling city.

  There is two main shopping mall nearby Erican College which is Avenue K and Suria KLCC. Students love going to these shopping malls for spending time when they have a long break from the class schedule. There are a lot of shops such as restaurant, pharmacy, beauty skin care, fashion, cinemas and so on. Like me and my friends, we are love to goes to restaurants at Avenue K having a lunch at there. We can say that college students will very satisfy with the college location because it is very convenient for them. Kuala Lumpur is a busy city which the city always having the traffic jam in every morning and evening. However, the main transport of Erican college student should be LRT. The LRT station is located at the lowest floor of Avenue K so we can often see the college students are coming out or going back to the station. It is an only walking distance from the college to the LRT station.

  I know Erican College through an education fair at Mid Valley in last year. I only know the name of the college at that time so this college is really fresh to me because I know nothing about the college other than the name. I had visited few college stall in the education fair and get advisory from those college’s counselor. I decided to study at Erican College through the conversation with the counselor and also my sister opinion since I worry I cannot make a proper decision. The reason that makes me decide to study at this college is the condition that the college offer is attracting me and close to my opinion. The most important thing is the fees are cheap compared to others famous college. Another things that make my decision to study at Erican College is the college offer dual certification which is local and the United Kingdom.

  The courses in Erican college had been divided into several schools which is schools of art and design, IT and technology, management, social sciences, and tourism and hospitality. Each school in Erican College have at least one course. For instance, school of social sciences is included the diploma in Mass Communication and diploma in Psychology. The course which contains the most amount of student will be Business Administration. It has around 50 students in a class of business administration. Although Erican college is quite new compared to others college, the facilities in the college are complete. A student who studied mass communication has a special facility for them which are the mass communication studio. The studio has a photography room and a broadcasting room. Another place that I like is the gallery which a place that placed a lot of the model of the building and those building is designed by our college interior design student.

  There is some special programme that Erican college offer to their students. One of the special programmes is GBL camp which the GBL stands for “Go Beyond Limit”. Every student is required to attend the camp at least once. This programme is very meaningful because the camp is very interesting and the camp can give the students positive energy and makes the students think positively. The duration of the camp is two days one night and it usually held on the first or second semester of every new student. The camp has conducted some activities such as games, seminar and so on. The purpose of the camp have been held is our founder want to encourage the student to chase their dream and make them have a positive mind so the student can be success.

  Another special programme that the college offer to the students is success forum. Every student is required to attend 8 to 10 of the success forum before they graduate. The success forum is invited some success social personage to our college and they would give a talk to the students. The success social personage will share their experience on the progress that they achieve their goal and they may share the tips that made them so successful. Most of them are businessman so the students could learn a lot from them. The students have the privilege to ask a question to those success social personages that they curious to know.

  I have taken the diploma in Mass Communication in this college. Out of the reason that I mentioned in the above which I decided to study in this college is there are four major in the diploma in Mass Communication. The four major is included journalism, advertising, broadcasting and public relation. The reason why the four major is attracting me is I am the person who are like to learn different of things. Although I want to major in broadcasting at first, I am curious with others thing also. I want to know whether there are other things will be suitable for me.

  In a conclusion, there are a lot of things that Erican college need to make some improvement and I believe that the management is actually working on it. The college is valuable to make people look forward to it. However, I will stay in this college for two and the half year so I will enjoy my college with my friends to create the memorable memory in the life.
